Korcula town has no public transportation but the town is small enough to walk everywhere. There are many small villages such as Blato, Smokvica and Cara worth visiting if you have more time to spend.

Things to do in Korcula

With tracks aplenty offering spectacular views, cycling is a very popular activity on the island and mild winters have also aided its rapid development on the island. Kayaking and snorkeling are also popular activities and the prices are very reasonable. For the more active traveler, there is the Korkyra Baroque Festival in September and the old island tradition of the Sword Dance in which actors stage historical battles with eloquent choreography. Eating in Korcula

There are plenty of restaurants on the island ranging from tradition Adriatic fare to Italian influences. Don’t leave the island with trying some of the local dishes in the Old Town which feature fish and beef stews, and also a Croatian take on Italian cuisine which involves deep fried dough.

Beaches in Korcula

Relaxed travellers looking for a quiet getaway can soak up the sun on some of Croatia’s most scenic beaches. However be aware that beaches in Korcula are quite liberal and most residents and tourists will be fully nude. Also be mindful that most beaches are quite rocky so it is imperative to wear the appropriate footwear.
